Cranky CJ

Daddy has been out of college for ten years. In those ten years he is now a husband and someone's father. Who would have ever thought this would be where he would be? Today the college had a reuinon for Daddy's class and he took CJ along with him for the festivities. The day began really slow. Daddy wanted to get up early but just could not roll out of bed. Then there was getting CJ to her Uncle Duke. He agreed to watch her until Daddy was finished down at the church. Of course CJ cried when Daddy left, but Daddy used Mommy's technique today and informed CJ that he was leaving but would be back for her. The report was that she only cried for ten minutes.

So fast forward three hours and CJ and Daddy are on the campus of The College of New Jersey. CJ slept the entire ride down, and when she first encountered people, was very cranky. One of Daddy's best friends said that CJ was acting like her mother. Daddy chuckeld and CJ did not bat an eye. She also wanted to play the, "I want out of the stroller but I do not wish to walk" game. Daddy quickly put an end to that and strapped her in and provided a cookie as an incentive, lol. As the day went on CJ warmed up a little. She met a few more of Daddy's students. One of them made her cry loudly. I do not know why she cried but she did, lol.

We ended the day by picking up some things from Daddy's office and heading home. Daddy enjoyed CJ's company today and wants more like it. Spending quality time with each other is a great way to strengthen a bond. SO that is what you all need to pray for. Pray that whatever situations prevent CJ and Daddy from having these type of days lessen. Prayer changes things, peoeple, and situations.

Not Much

Daddy can not report on much today. When Daddy left CJ was asleep. When Daddy arrived home CJ was finishing up her bath. Daddy listened to her talk a little and then kissed her godnight.

Keep praying. God sent me a sign today. Prayer changes things, people, and situations.

Storm Watch

This morning CJ and Daddy got to sleep late. Daddy went out for his first round of golf so they did not need to leave to early. Daddy was able to get the entore game in before the rain came pouring down. Mommy was so worried she actually called Daddy to see if he was OK. That was so nice of her but she did not contact the sitter to see if the baby was OK.

Today CJ finally got her new stroller. As Rosenberg said on Hot 97, all the Jewish people have McClaren strollers.
Now trust and believ Daddy looked for something cheaper but had to admit that the one we have fit CJ best. So we left the store with it, now we have more trunk space.

CJ will be home tomorrow, prayer for both her and Mommy. Prayer changes things, people, and situations.

Bumps and Bruises

Today was another day of Daddy hating on MOmmy as she slept and he and CJ going about their usual days. CJ going to the babysitter and Daddy going to work. CJ was really tired when she left out this morning. All she could say was, "I want milk!" The only problem was that Daddy forgot to pack a cup of milk for CJ so he told her she needed to wait until she arrived at the babysitter. She was kind of OK with that but Daddy had to hold her hand the entire ride into town.

So after a long day CJ and Daddy arrive home to Mommy burnt out from her daily plan. She is covering some great ground in the house but she admitted that she missed her Dynamic Duo. Daddy reported to Mommy about the scratch CJ received at the sitter and Mommy acted accordingly. The babysitter dsaid, she told me becasue she knew Mommy would inquire when she saw it. Daddy on the other only cares that she is not hurt. She will get some bumps and bruises but hopefully no breaks. Mommy likes to know who, hat, when, where and why as if Daddy was there, lol!

The night went by well. CJ did not want much to eat tonight. She received her bath and is now sleepy beautifully. God is still moving in our lives and Daddy is still learing patience. Keep praying for us, our move is coming. Prayer changes things, people, and situations.

Change of Plans

So today was going to be a routine day for Daddy and CJ at least. Daddy woke up, preapred for work, then he woke CJ up and dressed her. Daddy then dropped CJ off at the sitter and then proceeded down the turnpike to work. He was going to work all day, pick CJ up from the sitter, take her home and then attends a meeting he was scheduled to be at. At sometime during the day Mommy called and changed the plans. She said that she wanted Daddy to take CJ up north with him so she could finish doing work around the house, Daddy obliged.

So we arrive up north and CJ did not cry this time. Her cousin was outside flying a kite so she wanted to play with him. Then she saw the gate and wanted to open and close it. She went outside the gate once and her grandmother told her not to go out. CJ actually listened. We went upstairs to clean CJ up and get her some food. Daddy prepared her some turkey and marshmallows, lol! Daddy needed to sneak out the house to get to his meeting. He turned on the television and let her watch her favorite shows. Once she was into it I left out. Daddy's Daddy, when he arrived to the meeting, told me that once CJ figured out I was gone she was quite upset.

After the meeting I went to pick CJ up and found her playing a game with her Uncle Nuni. She was quiet and still until she saw her Daddy and told Nuni bye. She is really attached to her Daddy and always wants to be by his side. She would not even let Daddy go to the bathroom by myself today, which Daddy does not like. We are working with this situation but CJ is winning thus far. Prayerfully she will begin to be a little more calm when her Daddy leaves her. Daddy is working on minimizing that and she has to work on accepting that Daddy can not be with her 24/7. We know prayer changes things, people, and situations and this fits the bill.

Mommy's Break Day 1

Daddy arrived to work just in time for his 9:30am Monday staff meeting. This was not his plan...he planned to be to work on time and be settled by 9:30am. However, as is generally the case when Mommy is on break, Daddy was jealous and tried to linger around home as long as he could. Consequently he ran into twenty-five minutes of traffic, had to get gas, and make an ATM stop all before getting to work. Daddy talked to Mommy once and heard CJ in the background, but as usual the highlight of the day came when Daddy arrived home.

Daddy had planned to take CJ out in her buggy but as he drove more and more norward, the sky turned darker and darker. Instead Daddy figured he would hang out on the floor with CJ. As soon as Daddy came in the door and ascended the stairs he heard that loving voice call out "Daddy". CJ then followed that up with a, "Hi Daddy!". Those words resonate like music in my ears. Today was a difficult day at work with some of the calls Daddy had to deal with, but when he hears the voice of his Princess any other voices from the work day turn into far away memories.

CJ likes to "Zerbert" (my 80's babies know what that is) her Daddy's tummy. Why I do not know. So she proceeded to do that and to cover Daddy up with her blankets as he rested on the floor. CJ showed signs of nurturing today. Daddy uttered these words about CJ to her Mommy today, "I just want my child to be a strong independent woman that knows how to be treated like a lady." As long as Daddy instills in her morals, purpose and goals along with sprinkles of a lot of other stuff, CJ will grow to be a remarkable young woman.

So pray as Daddy continues to help in the develoment of his Princess into a Queen. Pray because prayer changes things, people, and situations!

Resurrection Day 2011

Last year Daddy had to go to church at 6:30am all alone and afterwards had to drive back to pick up Mommy and CJ. Daddy will admit it took a toll on him but he will always do his best to accomondate his Princess and woman of the house. This year Mommy decided that she and CJ would attend the 6:30am service and the family even left almost on time.

We arrive to church and CJ was a little groggy but she was up, and up she remained until we were in the car on the ride home at 8:00pm. One second, she did take a 20 minute nap between the end of church and the 5 minute ride to grandmother's house. She woke up and began her path of destruction. She cracked an egg, peeled it and proceeded to eat it and then leave a trail of egg all around the dining and living room. She wanted to eat early so somehow got some turkey earlier than anyone else. CJ also participated in an egg hunt. Daddy's mommy placed eggs around the backyard for her grandchildren to pick up. They all obliged and Grandma was pleased.

CJ looked just like a princess today in her periwinkle dress and accessories. She actually saw all of her cousins in the same day and had fun bothering them all. She is currently the youngest one and does a great job of standing up on her own to them. She also ate well. So this was a great day filled with family and thanking God for the resurrection! Continue to pray for Daddy and CJ as they continue to develop and create memories. CJ and her Daddy are both firm believers that prayer changes things, people, and situations.

An English Brunch

CJ has been blessed like both of her parents and has known her grandparents. Not all of them but at least two of them. Well today CJ had the pleasure of having a brunch time conversation with her great-grandmother. This as CJ determined hat she would eat and while her great-grandmother cooked chitterlings. Daddy realized that was the reason no one was home with her. Cooking those nasty smelling things would clear a house for you. Anyway as CJ ate a blueberry muffin she held a continuous conversation with her great-grandmother. Now no one stopped to give CJ their undivided attention but everyone kept their ears toward her. You could not help it. She kept going, and going, and going. Daddy asked her to cool it but she wanted to talk. Her great-grandmother would stop during her cooking and engage CJ more and CJ would turn to her and provide answers. It was quite interesting to watching four generation at work. You never know what CJ learned today, just having the opportunity to have her great-grandmother all to herself was special and she took full advanage of it. Today was a great day even in the rain, we also were able to find CJ a Resurrection Day bonnet, which Daddy is very happy about. CJ did not nap today so she went to bed fairly easy.

We are still trying to be patience and wait on the Lord to instruct us on what direction to go. Pray that Daddy had patience as God give instuctions that will impact the family. It is tough but Daddy is doing his best. Prayer my friends changes things, people, and situations!

Good Friday

Daddy was in and out of the house all day. He attended two Good Friday experiaces today. On bothe occasions when he left the house CJ grabbed her jacked and cried to go with him. Daddy promised to take her out the house with him tomorrow. CJ needs to be informed that that breaks Daddy's heart when he hears her calling out to Daddy and crying when he leaves.

Soon she will be old enough to go to church with Daddy and then she will not have to cry for her Daddy any more. Prayer will chaneg things and situations for her.

The Dagger

CJ has a way to put a dagger in Daddy's heart. When Daddy was leaving today CJ began to cry in hysteria. As I lingered at the bottom of the steps taking a deep breath as I build up the courage to leave. It seems that she is doing this more and more. WHich means I may be going to much again. Daddy has tried to curb his runnning but it seems to have picked up and CJ is being affected. So Daddy will need to assess what he is doing becasue he does not want CJ to be wanting her Daddy and he is not there.

When I returned home she was sound asleep. I will hang out with her in the morning and begin to develop a calendar of events with time for CJ blocked off. Pray for us during thids time. Prayer changes things, people, and situations!

No Television

We have been very concerned lately about how CJ responds to television. So for the past week and a half we have been limiting our television intake. Now for normal people this would be OK, not for Daddy he is hyperactive and needs the background noise. Daddy understands that he does not want CJ to become addicted to the televsion so he is making the sacrifice. So what do you do when there is no TV to watch. You play with CJ, you watch her dress up in a tutu, you read with her and you chase her around the house as she does things to occupy herself. Today it was a box on her head, lol!

For the past week CJ has been bathing in the big tub. We bought a bath mat for her (I know it is pathetic that we did not already have one) and now she sits like a big girl. She still is having issues with bath time but we keep moving along so she does not think not taking baths are OK. Daddy bath night was tonight becasue Daddy will be out at church tomorrow and wanted to be fair to Mommy. CJ objected of course and called for her Mommy. I guess the day does make the difference.

So the saga continues what will Daddy and CJ do to occupy themselves as Mommy requests the television be turned off. We shall see but do pray for us. Prayer changes things, people, and situations. It is prayer that will get us through this too!

Slept All The Way

Well today I do not have much to report. We woke up, praise God! Daddy dressed CJ and she remained fast asleep. SO as we drove from home to the sitter every time I looked back she was sleep, out cold folks. I will admit that I am jealous. Daddy has been on the go a lot these past fews days and just need some time to relax. Hopefully this weekend he will get a little rest. When Daddy arrived home CJ was again sleep. Daddy looked in on her and then proceeded to get ready for bed himself. Daddy and CJ will get more "Us" time soon. Through prayer things are about to change. All becasue we know prayer changes things, people, and situations!

Pretty Little Girl!

Well this has been the quickest dress shopping for CJ in a long time. Daddy saw something he liked and Mommy agreed. During his busy day Daddy called the corporate store, was connected to the Manhattan store, was lied too but remained persistent. WHy not, it was all for his Princess. Through his diligence he was able to secure the dress closer to home. So, after going home becasue he left his wallet with eveyrthing in it home today the family proceeded to the mall. We went directly to Lord and Taylor and picked up the dress. Next it was off to find shoes. We went to one store and chose to shoes, we really were not happy with either but that was all the store offered. We settled for one shoe but we never settled on the color. They were passing it off as the color white but Mommy and Daddy both were left uneasy. So we continued to find her sweater and then wehn we had bought everything we needed we stopped in one more store. On our way out of the store Mommy spotted some more really white shoes. So we called another store to have them held for us until tomorrow. Once they were secure we took the other pair back. When we left the mall in theory the Princess's regalia was set. Daddy thinks his little girl will look great! He thanks God for her and being able to supply her needs. Continue to pray, prayer changes things, people, and situations!

No Amen's

Well today was not the usual Sunday. Daddy slept in late and did not make it to the 8am service, Mommy showered and got dressed for church and CJ was cleaned up and in the middle of being dressed. All of a sudden Mommy told Daddy that she was not comfortable taking CJ out today. CJ tossed and turned all night according to Mommy. Daddy might have heard her once but was so tired he slept unusually hard. She also had a cough and running nose. Thank God she did not have a fever but she was not at 100%. Daddy felt this was going to happen so took the news in stride, prayed with his family, then went off to worship.

Worship was great as usual but to the congregants something was missing. After service someone came to me and asked about CJ. They told me they missed her today with her loud amen's. CJ does make her presence known when she is in worship. With a Daddy who is a preacher some amen's from the home team never hurts.

Once I arived home I found out that CJ slept for the majority of the day. That explains why it is now almost 10:00pm and she is up playing peekaboo with Mommy. It may have been the ice cream Sunday we shared tonight before Daddy goes on his no bread, no meat, no sweets kick. Seafood is welcome! You know Daddy had to share that with his Princess. Mommy offered bread, lol! Well I am glad she is not too sick. She is not 100% but with you all praying she will be back there in a heartbeat! We all know that prayer changes things, people, and situations.

Back At It

Folks this has been what Daddy has labeled a "marathon week". I have worked for the past fourteen days straight. This includes night and day along with professional and church work. To say the least Daddy is TIRED. Even though he was tired the family had to go out into the torential down pours to get a few needed items. Now how does CJ fit into all this. Well, changing gears. Last night Daddy's eyes were bigger than his stomach. He purchased a chocolate walnutbrownie from Seven Eleven. These brownies are excellent folks. So it got a little late and before he knew it Daddy was sleep without eating his brownie. So when Daddy left the house this mornign he told Mommy that she and CJ could have the brownie. When Daddy arrived home after his long day at work he asked how the brownie was. Mommy let him know that she did not eat it, so Daddy immediatley wanted to feast upon it. The problem was that his daughter got hold of it during the day and now it is missing. A whole chocolate walnut brownie that Daddy could be enjoing this very minute and CJ has misplaced it. All of this and she knows Daddy would have shared it with her. Daddy has looked all over but has not laid his eyes upon the prized brownie. He is resorting to drinking a cup of tea to work on his throat and ease his nerves for the night. That brownie would work perfectly too. Daddy figures CJ will find the brownie sooner than later and they will enjoy it together without Mommy's well wishes.

So this marathon week has concluded folks and I promise to be back on my daily blogging responsibilites. I do not know how many days I missed but I should not miss any. Fatigue set in and I had to do what my body led me to do. Just for your information, CJ climed out of the low playpen today. She is really getting big and independent right before our veyr eyes.

Continue to pray that God moves in our lives. He is cooking up a blessing for Daddy and his family will be the beneficiary. We know that prayer changes things, peoiple, and situations!

God Is Cooking Up A Blessing!

CJ heard the word and affirmed it with a loud "AMEN!" I am glad that CJ has heard the word enought to know when to use it. As a family we try to pray daily. I pray for her daily and thank God for blessing me with her and entrusting me to her nurturing and care. So a huge smile comes to my face when in church I hear my Princess shouting out to the King of Kings!

The word tonight was, "Who Are You?" Daddy is glad he knows and share with his baby that she is a child of the King. What spoke to Daddy was that, God is cooking up a blessing for him! The breakthrough is on its way God is preparing Daddy, Mommy and CJ for it. I'm praising him now for his faithfulness, grace and mercy. I pray that Daddy and CJ both allow him to have his way in our lives. We both understand that prayer changes things, people, and sitiations!

Old Fashioned Doughnut

Well today Daddy was on his own to pick CJ up from the sitter. Mommy had another night of teacher conferences. So Daddy came prepared with a doughnut for CJ once we arrived home. As we drove home CJ and Daddy saw the sky open up. The black cloud that followed Daddy home finally got too heavy. This morning Daddy forgot to bring a hat for CJ so he grabbed one of his baseball caps left in the car. The only thing about that was that when Daddy picked CJ up he left it in the car and it was raining. CJ enjoyed the sprinkle on our way to the car.

Once we arrived home CJ began to eat her pastry and drink her milk. Daddy does not think she wanted either. When Daddy smelled CJ he figured it was time for her to be bathed. As we prepared her bath CJ of course began to whine. That used to bother Daddy but now he just continues to perform his duty as she whines and cries.

The highlight of the night was watchning CJ have a conversation with her Aunt. The phone rang so Daddy handed it to CJ. CJ said, "Hello" and then proceeded to carry a full conversation. What amused me the most was how she paced and held the phone as she talked. She even put the phone on speaker at a point. Her Aunt asked to speak to her mother and CJ told her, "No!" Daddy wonders was that because her Mommy was not home. Well at least she was accurate.

So CJ was in bed by the time her Mommy returned home for the day. CJ and her Daddy hung out tonight and had some fun. You all keep praying and never cease. Prayer changes things, people, and situations!

Time Out

Well folks, CJ is really having a hard time with learning how not to get put on timeout. Daddy is not a huge fan of the behavior modification tool but he understands that it must be used from time to time. CJ is startin to throw little tantrums when she does not get her way. Now both Daddy and Mommy being the stern disciplinarians they are are working on easing the blow a little. So Daddy, when CJ caught a tantrum today Daddy promptly sat her down and instructed her not to move. Now this is what puzzles me, she will not move. So Daddy is led to believe that when she does wrong she knows what she is doing. CJ has a little head on her shoulders and is not afraid to use it to her advantage.

CJ almost ran down the steps when she saw me coming to pick me up. I will admit that made me smile from ear to ear. Anytime I here her shout out "Daddy" "Daddy" I am even more proud to be her Daddy! So keep praying folks, pray for someone else today. CJ and I pray for others daily and we know that their lives are impacted. Prayer changes things, People, and situations!

Out ALL Day

What was suppose to be a quick trip out ended up being a full days long of traveling. By the end of the night CJ was worn out and is now asleep without even a whimper. The day was extended all because of her. Mommy and Daddy feel they need a new lightweight stroller for CJ. One that she is comfortable in and one that is compact. What we thought would be an in and out process resulted in a hour or more of searching and coming up empty. We have some leads but will wait to decide.

CJ and fmaily made our first trip to Perkins Restaraunt today. CJ enjoy herself, of course speaking to everyone around. She also cleaned up on pancakes too. So the day is over time to chill and relax. Please pray for Daddy, he has to work all day long tomorrow and it is the start of a seven day work week for him. Keep praying, prayer changes things, people. and situations. We know God has better than this in store!

Mommy, Daddy, CJ

So tonight was the second consecutive night that Daddy was awasy from home. He dropped his Princess off at 8:00am and did not get home to at least look at her until 10:30pm. Daddy has vowed to have breakfast and watch cartoon with CJ tomorrow morning. He will stop at nothing to spend time with her royal highness.

So yesterday CJ began to say something as we rode home. Daddy needed to lower his radio to hear her say, "Mommy, Daddy, CJ" Now that trio does spend a lot of time together and by the sound of it CJ identifies that fact. She sounds so cute saying it too. What a great kid! I get excited anytime someone asks about her. Talking about Daddy's baby helps him to not think about the time they are apart. God id working on it, the increase and movement is on the way. Lets keep praying, prayer chnages things, people, and situations!

I Want To GO

CJ p[layed the same stunt she played with Mommy on me today. I was leaving out to go down to the school for organizational elections. As I made my way to the stairs she began to say, "I want to go." She then proceeded to go for her coat but what she picked up were her snowsuit pants. She began to cry and said, "I want to go" again. Daddy was crushed on the inside and I would bet a tear dropped. Nevertheless Daddy needed to go and MOmmy came and comforted CJ. Daddy promised to have something for her when she woke up so I guess I need to find something between now and then. YOu all pray for me because currently I have nothing. Daddy believes that prayer changes things, people, and situations.

She Left Me

Once we arrived home, a little earlier than normal we all relaxed. Then Mommy began to look for her phone and could not find it. So Mommy decided to go back to the car and look for it. The only thing was that CJ insisted on going with her. She was so determined that she went and picked up her coat and said, "I want to go." Usually CJ would be cool with staying with Daddy but today she left me.

Daddy went to church so our evening together was brief. When Daddy arrived home CJ was sleeping. So, please remember to keep us in prayer. Prayer changes things, people, and situations.

The Yellow House

All the great-grandkids refer to the house Daddy gre up in as "The Yellow House" I do not know why but this is what they have become comfortable with. Now my daughter, CJ to be exact, lol, has chosen to deal differently with trhe yellow house. If we refer back some time ago now she had her hair done there. Now, everytime we pull in to the drieveway or in front of the house she begins to cry. The crying does not stop there, it linger once we hit the stairs, crack the door, and sometimes well into our stay. Daddy just does not understand why she acts up in this manner. Eveyrone around pays her no attention so it does not edge her on. Daddu ignores her too because she needs to learn how to interact with other people. She will not sit with her grandparents, uncles, aunts, not even the little cousins.

This is becoming a problem becasue CJ will need to stay with other people on the rare occasion Mommy and Daddy have things to do together. We are doing our best to train her but she seems to be fighting us tooth and nail. It is good to know that Daddy knows how to fix it. Prayer, it changes things, people, and situations and yet again my darling, darling baby fits all three categories.

Hi Daddy!

Daddy had a phone call so he did not go inside with Mommy to pick CJ up from the babysitter. Daddy wonders whaty she was thinking when she saw Mommy alone. Daddy di nto have to wait long to find out. Sooner than later you heard the words, "Hi, Daddy" in a high pitched voice full of love. Daddy turned around to look at his Princess and return her greeting. Daddy had a long day which has left him fatigued this evening but he has had to keep pressing. He even realized that he would be out of the house every night this week so he volunteered to change Daddy/Daughter Bath Night to today. CJ was not feeling a bath period but Daddy pressed on and completed the task. He lotined her up, dressed her, and prayed with her. Now todya becasue we went food shopping the bath occured before dinner. Mommy insisted on covering CJ with a big shirt so she did not get dirty. However, CJ did not want to comply and took most of it off and did not make a mess. After dinner CJ told Mommy good night, she only say's "Night!" though. Daddu gave her a big kiss then laid her down for the night. She laid down rather calmly and that is a good thing. Keep praying my friends, prayer changes things, people, and situations!

Singles Action

So ususally CJ and Daddy both get to say Amen in church. However today Daddy coul donly hear his voice and not CJ's as the word was procalimed. Daddy does not know whether or not it was no clothes or laundry that kept CJ at home but their was no tag team action in worship today. SO of course Daddy prayed for both CJ and Mommy. The ride to and from church was lonely but Daddy found a CD with some great preaching to accompany me.

The highlight of the day of course was arriving home to the chant of Daddy coming from my princess. That word makes Daddy melt and a huge smile come upon his face. So keep praying that CJ makes Daddy smile and that Daddy always gives CJ a reason to smile. We know that prayer changes things, people, and situations!

Falling Hard

So today Daddy felt like the weather was pleasant enough to take CJ outdors. CJ got a big purple ball so instead of her having no room to play with it in the house, outdoors gave her the space she needed. Now you must know that Daddy is not in the best shape of his life and when he got outside he saw that he could get back in shape by chasing CJ. As soon as she hit the bottom step she was off and running. So Daddy threw the ball and CJ wen tt o go get it or so I thought. CJ instead wanted to run down the pavement and of course she fell. Now I heard the tumble and thought she would cry. Not my Princess, she is a little rough. She got back up and continued to do what she set out to do. She was on the pavement.

There was this little boy and when CJ saw him she went over to talk to him. Now Daddy was not pleased but he allowed the teo to have a FRIENDLY conversation. It was brief and then Daddy told CJ to move it along. We did not stay out to too long becasue CJ's nose began to runa little. The time together was great though. We have to do that more often. Soon the weather will be nice enough for us to go to the park. Now Daddy needs to get the park toys ready! You all pray for us some great weather! Prayer changes things, people, and situations!

Don't Walk This Way

So we ended up because of lateness, having dinner at Applebee's. Not the desired location but the closest one to us and we were hungry. So we sit down and they always put CJ in the aisle. Little do they know, but CJ choses to bother anyone who comes close and when youhave us in the back with all the other kids due to noise level, CJ will reach out and hit anyone that comes near. Sometimes I want to war people to go another route when delivery food or CJ could cause you to have a huge embarassing mistake. Their is no way to prevent this either. SH elures them in by saying "Hi!" to them. Then by the time the bill comes she has hit the person at least three times.
